Sol Art, a masterpiece in every step

An unusual Communicating Object – a shoe insole – designed for those who love art with all their heart, from head to toe.

At Alisea, our daily challenge is to find new ways to communicate through objects. So, when we were asked to design a new item for the bookshop of one of the most important museums in the world, we decided to bring masterpieces to an unconventional place: the insoles of shoes. We asked ourselves: why not walk with art?

This is how Sol Art was born: a washable insole (up to 30 degrees with neutral detergents) made of Vogue – a high-quality paper certified for skin contact, including the printing inks used.

The first three versions feature Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, Piero della Francesca’s Diptych of the Duchess and Duke of Urbino, and Caravaggio’s Shield with the Head of Medusa.

A way to accompany every step with a masterpiece of art history.
